Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) says the House GOP refugee bill that will be voted on Thursday, “doesn’t really alter anything.”
On Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Daily, Sessions said:
It basically says the President has asserted that he is going to vet these people before they are admitted into the country as refugees. And they say, ‘well, we require that the appointees of President Obama, who are in charge of vetting, say they fully vetted him.’ That’s all it basically says. So it doesn’t deal with the fact that an overwhelming majority of Americans don’t favor this expansion of refugees through Syria and in fact oppose it.
Breitbart News Daily host Steve K. Bannon asked Sessions whether the politicians in Washington, D.C. understand that America is at war with radical islam.
“No, or at least rejecting the things that are necessary to defend America and it’s a form of denial of the seriousness of the challenges we’re facing” said Sessions. “This is a socialist left-wing government in France and reality has mugged them. They’re finally dealing in a more realistic way with the challenge they face”
“It’s not so bad here yet, but the American people understand that we need to have an immigration policy, a law enforcement policy that protects us and we do not need to allow this to get out of control like Europe has.”
“We’ve identified 72 cases in the United States in the last year where people were indicted or convicted and we’ve asked how they got into the country— terrorist cases. The FBI director just testified that there are terrorist investigations in every single state in this country.”
