GOP Presidential front runner Donald Trump says that ISIS currently uses the Internet “far better than we do.” In order to beat ISIS, “we have to be a force on the Internet.”
“You have to take over the Internet, because they’re recruiting through the Internet,” Trump told Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Daily radio program Thursday morning.
“They play the Internet far better than we do. We’re the ones who came up with the Internet, but they’re playing it better than we do,” the New York City real estate billionaire said.
“So we have to be a force on the Internet because they’re getting so many people, and, by the way, when those people leave us, and they go over to fight for ISIS… at some point they’re not going to go over to fight for ISIS over there, they’re going to stay right here and fight for ISIS, you understand that,” he added.
“We have to take over the Internet. In addition to the bombing and everything else that we have to do, I will find a real military leader, not these characters I see on television that are in the military that don’t know what they’re doing.”
Trump also criticized the Obama adminstration’s outdated and ineffective public communications strategy, particularly the way military officers are giving away information in television interviews.
“I’m watching people, generals, that are not the right people, they are not the right leaders. And by the way, they shouldn’t be on television,” he said.
“General Patton wouldn’t be on television. General Douglas MacArthur wouldn’t be on television. We would have a military that would be so strong and so efficient (under my administration),” Trump concluded.
