GOP presidential candidate former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee – one of the first presidential candidates to speak out about the threat of Syrian refugees coming into the U.S. following the terrorist attack in Paris – joined Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM with host Stephen K. Bannon and doubled down, saying, “We have no responsibility to import terror into the United States.”
Huckabee said it is one thing to be compassionate, but leaders in the U.S. need to be careful because “it’s our responsibility to take care of America and Americans.”
He also expressed frustration with President Obama’s address in Turkey yesterday, where the Commander-in-Chief again refused to identify the enemy, or call it radical Islam.
“Rather than address the problem, you got Obama yesterday angrily, basically telling Americans that we’re a bunch of [xenophobic people] because we really think that protecting our own homeland is job number one for the Commander in Chief.”
“We’ve got a cub scout for a Commander-in-Chief,” Huckabee charged, adding that’s “very insulting for the cub scouts.”
He said, “The only way we’re going to make the world a safer place is to eradicate not just ISIS, but al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Hezbollah, Hamas, my gosh, we’ve just sat down and made some kind of ridiculous deal with the Iranians – how crazy is that?!”
He said that Iranians repeatedly said they were going to kill Americans and wipe Israel off the map and now America is giving them the weapons to make that possible.
Huckabee told Bannon that the Obama administration “just [wants] to protect Muslims and the reputations of Muslims more than the United States, and you cannot win a war if you don’t even identify your enemy” adding, “this is not Muslim versus Christian, Muslim versus Jew. This is civilization versus barbarianism.”
“They believe it is their purpose…their goal is complete annihilation of everything that represents western civilation,” Huckabee charged of ISIS and all radical Islamists – saying their mission is to Kill Americans.
He said Democrat presidential candidates refuse to label the threat as radical Islam because “they want to be politically correct” and not offend, but that Huckabee – and many Americans – get offended when innocent lives are lost to terrorism.
“I’m offended that our government seems to want to protect the reputation of a radical religion more than it wants to protect American citizens.”
Huckabee added that “not every Muslim is a radical jihadist” but those radical jihadists are Muslims. “If you don’t know your target, you’re likely to make a real mess of things.”
He said he doesn’t trust the Obama administration to accurately vet the Syrian refugees coming into the United States.
Huckabee touched on his plan if he were elected President of the United States, saying, “Domestically, we’re going to respect peoples civil rights…but we’re going to increase the human intelligence” adding that he doesn’t agree with doing away with surveillance of suspected radical mosques.
Huckabee said it is important to “recognize that right now even while Europe is ready to act,” comparing a left-wing, liberal President in France that is closing the borders to Obama who wants to keep America’s borders open even after the terror attack in Paris and threats of more.
“When we have to get our lessons in courage and statecraft from the French, God help us all.”
