On Tuesday’s Breitbart News Daily, best-selling author Dinesh D’Souza said that foreign policy is just a “nuisance” to progressives because they are so busy scheming to seize America’s wealth and power by establishing government control over all of America’s major industries.
D’Souza, the author of Stealing America: What My Experience with Criminal Gangs Taught Me about Obama, Hillary, and the Democratic Party, told host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon that progressives are so “busy stealing America” by “appropriating the wealth and power of this country and putting it under their own control” that “foreign policy to these people is a nuisance.”
“There’s a sense with Obama — we saw the same thing with Hillary and Benghazi — that they don’t get it. We are always trying to educate Obama and Hillary in the facts. We’re always trying to explain to them this is what ISIS is, Vladimir Putin was a KGB officer… and that when the mullahs say they want a nuclear bomb, they really do,” he said. “These people seem ineducable. We can’t get through to them. A deeper explanation is needed for why it is the case that not only do these things take these people by surprise but they seem serene in the face of debacle.”
D’Souza pointed out that though France’s Francois Hollande is “a Socialist who wanted a 70% top tax rate… the moment the ISIS attack hits home, this guy sounds now like he’s Winston Churchill.”
“The contrast with Obama is so striking,” he said.
He said that though Hillary Clinton did not accomplish much as Secretary of State from the point of view of those “looking for her to protect the interest of the United States,” if “she views her own diplomacy as making contacts with the Clinton Foundation, sending Bill to do $500,000 speeches, raking in money, then she’s accomplishing a lot.”
D’Souza said that he was a “think tank guy” who “looked at American politics as a clash of ideas… We believe in liberty, they believe in equality… we want freedom, they want social justice.”
But his worldview changed when the Obama administration targeted him for violating campaign finance law and he had to spend eight months in a confinement center where he was “ sleeping neck and neck with coyotes, drug smugglers, murderers and rapists” and “got a view of the criminal underclass.”
“This showed me a totally different America,” he said.
He realized after his experiences that to these people, “life is hard and… people are not driven by point-headed ideals… they are driven by avarice, lust, hatred, and revenge.”
“I began to see politics in this more elemental way,” he said, adding that his new book describes his experiences in lockup and “applies new insights into American politics.”
D’Souza said that progressives “are trying to establish government control—i.e. their control—over all the major industries that have money.”
“They are trying to have their claws on the commanding heights of the economy,” he said, pointing out that progressives are not trying to take over the economy through “socialism” because they are not “nationalizing industry” and “the government isn’t owning the means of production.”
Instead, D’Souza said the “government is telling the private sector what they can and cannot do.”
He pointed out that the Obama administration has exerted more control over “every hospital, every doctor, the automobile industry, the banking and finance industry… they’ve been moving into the energy industry, they’re moving in to education.”
