Former Senator Rick Santorum is criticizing politically correct politicians in both parties for failing to stand up for American values and diminishing the moral authority of the war on terrorism.
During an interview with Breitbart News Daily on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125 with Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon, Santorum pointed out that the traditional values of the West were being abandoned by a ruling class dedicated to the idea of diversity and moral relativism.
“If you don’t have a culture, a shared set of value and ideas … the will to fight goes away because there is nothing worth fighting for,” he said
Santorum ridiculed Democrats for refusing to identify the threat of radical Islamic terrorism for political reasons.
“They’re bowing to a media, they’re bowing to academia, they’re bowing to their sources of funding, all of which accepts this ideology that the West is in fact not worth fighting for, the West and it’s ideas are broken, are corrupt and therefore cannot be favorably juxtaposed to any other ideology,” he said.
He warned that the “containment” of ISIS was dangerously wrong for the rest of the world, particularly in a caliphate.
“Containment is exactly what ISIS wants,” he said, pointing out that ISIS had already established a caliphate to attract Muslims to join their organization.
“As long as they maintain or grow this area, they are considered in the Islamic world as being blessed by Allah, and therefore having to be followed by other Muslims around the world,” he said.
He also warned against allowing more Syrian refugees to resettle in the United States, particularly since 70 percent of them are men of fighting-age.
“That is not a typical refugee flow, there is something going on here,” he said.
Santorum pointed out that some of tenets of Islam called for increased migration to spread their faith, particularly through young men intermarrying with a native population.
“It is something that Mohammad used, it is a thing that is very much within the Koran,” he said. “This is not an usual thing if you look at the history of the Islamic world.
“We should not be resettling these people in the United States of America,” he added. “Why? Because they’ll never go back and therefore you will have accomplished exactly what ISIS has set out to do.”
Santorum added that Iran was the greater threat than ISIS, condemning President Obama’s nuclear deal with their leaders.
“Iran with a nuclear weapon changes the entire world, Iran is no different than ISIS,” he said, calling them “more dangerous” because of their apocalyptic version of Islam.
He warned that it was more than ever to stop the next major World War – which would be led by Iran.
“If you don’t know know who the enemy is, you don’t know what’s important and how to fight them,” he said.
Santorum, who is running a long-shot bid for president, informed the audience that he was the only candidate other than Sen. Lindsey Graham who had actually experience in dealing with Iran, Iraq, and radical Islamic terrorism.
“There are a lot of good people that are running for president,” he said, “Very, very, very, few of them have national security experience.”
