A new video allegedly released by an Islamic State affiliated group warns that Washington, D.C. will be the next city to suffer a terrorist attack.
The six-minute video is claimed to be made by Wilayat Kirkuk, an Islamic terrorist sub-group based in Baghdad. The message is delivered by a man identified as Al Ghareeb and features footage from last week’s Paris shooting that killed over 100 people.
According to a report from Reuters, Al Ghareeb says in the video:
We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France’s and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington.
The video also warns that other European cities will face the same fate as Paris.
“I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before,” the jihadist featured in the video claims.
Reuters reports that they could not immediately verify the authenticity of the video.
Jihadists purporting to be members of the Islamic State terrorist group released an audio statement following the Paris attack taking credit for the “Blessed Onslaught In Paris Against the Crusader Nation Of France.”
“Let France and those who walk in its path know that they will remain on the top of the list of targets of the Islamic State,” the statement noted, “and that the smell of death will never leave their noses as long as they lead the convoy of the Crusader campaign.”
Evidence has since surfaced that the Paris attack was planned in ISIS-controlled Syria and ordered, along with a series of similar attacks on Western capitals, by Islamic State “caliph” Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. A jihadist named Abdelhamid Abaaoud has also been identified as the “mastermind” of the attack, as well as a number of other unsuccessful attempts against the West. The Iraqi government claims to have provided Western powers involved in anti-ISIS efforts in both Iraq and Syria with intelligence regarding such an attack on Thursday, less than 24 hours before the multiple attacks in Paris Friday night.
