During the CBS News’ Democratic debate on Saturday, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton was asked if the legacy of the Obama administration will be that it underestimated ISIS. Debate moderator John Dickerson used President Barack Obama’s interview with ABC Friday where he said ISIS is not getting “stronger” and has been “contained” just hours before the attack in Paris as an example.
Clinton contradicted Obama, saying ISIS “cannot be contained” and “must be defeated.”
“I think that we have to look at ISIS as the leading threat of an international terror network. It cannot be contained. It must be defeated.”
