Friday on MSNBC’s Democratic candidates forum hosted by Rachel Maddow, Democratic presidential candidate former Gov. Martin O’Malley (D-MD) slammed his opponent Hillary Clinton for changing her position on the Keystone pipeline saying “leadership is about being clear about your principles.”
When host Rachel Maddow said, “President Obama today announced he has rejected the application to build the Keystone pipeline.”
O’Malley said, “Ho ho-ho! Hey.”
Maddow said, “Every Democratic candidate you and Sen. [Bernie] Sanders and Hillary Clinton oppose the pipeline.”
O’Malley interjected, “But Secretary Clinton got there just last week and I was there a year ago.”
Maddow asked, “Why is that important? You’re on the same page now.”
O’Malley said, “I think it’s important because leadership isn’t about following polls. I think leadership is about being clear about your principles.”
