Sen. Marco Rubio is raising concerns that Donald Trump acts strangely when he gets bad press coverage.
“Anytime he reads something or something happens, like a poll is not as good as he wants it to be, he gets really weird and he does and says weird and strange things,” Rubio said with a laugh, during an interview with New Hampshire radio host Jack Heath, pointing out that the billionaire presidential candidate was “obsessed” with coverage about his campaign.
Trump attacked the news outlet Politico this morning in an interview with Breitbart News Daily on Sirius/XM Patriot today as “one of the most dishonest organizations I have ever dealt with” after it ran a series of stories that he didn’t like. He has also gone after organizations including Fox News, CNN, National Review, and The Weekly Standard, when confronted by reports or opinion pieces that he didn’t appreciate.
Trump has also attacked Rubio since the last debate, criticizing the Florida senator for poor control of his finances, changing his positions on immigration, and even for sweating too much.
Rubio admitted during the interview that as a result of his increasing popularity he would come under fire from many of his fellow candidates including attacks from Jeb Bush, Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton.
“We’re going to continue to focus on the future of America, that’s what this election should be about, That’s what my message is, I’m not going to change who I am or why I’m running because of someone else,” he added.
