Mark Levin: RNC Chair Priebus Should Be Fired or Resign

Conservatives Gather For Annual CPAC Convention

On Breitbart News Daily, which can be heard from 6AM to 9AM ET on Sirius XM Patriot Channel 125, Mark “The Great One” Levin said that Republican National Committee Chairman (RNC) Reince Priebus should resign or be fired for throwing the GOP candidates to the mainstream media wolves.

The conservative icon and talk radio host was Breitbart News Daily‘s inaugural guest the morning after GOP campaigns met in Washington, D.C. and reportedly agreed to cut the RNC out of the debate negotiating process. Calling Priebus “a very weak, feeble national chairman,” Levin said “it’s now time for Reince Priebus to resign.”

In a face-saving effort after the disastrous October 28 CNBC debate, Priebus suspended the RNC’s relationship with NBC News for future debates.

“Reince Priebus should be fired or should resign. He did this. All three debates have been extremely problematic,” Levin told host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon. “He blew it.”

Levin said that from day one, the media should not have had a “moderating role” and “all platforms” should have been able to cover the debates.

Levin insisted that these are the “Republican Party debates” and not the “media debates.” He said the debates should not be owned by Fox New, CNN, CNBC, or any other media outlet.

Levin mentioned that other networks are only allowed to use 60-second clips from the debates and said the networks should have been force to “waive all copyright issues.” He asked how letting the networks own their debates helps the GOP get its message out to as many people as possible. Levin also wondered why the Republican Party should allow the mainstream media to “make a fortune” off of the debates and enhance their ratings, especially when the “media are 99% hostile to conservatives” and are essentially the “Pretorian Guard media that protects liberals, big government, [President Barack] Obama, and Hillary [Clinton].”

“We cannot allow the media to control or influence these debates,” Levin said. “They get to comment on them. They get to report on them. They get to observe them. They don’t get to participate in them.”

Levin, who also said that it was “infantile” of Fox News’s Megyn Kelly to ask Donald Trump about Rosie O’Donnell, said that the CNBC debate “was so outrageous that even Hellen Keller could see what was going on here” and again blasted Priebus for setting up a debate process where left-wing media members who “pretend to be journalists” and plot to “take down” Republicans get to grill and “throw slop” at GOP presidential candidates.

“What kind of political party is suicidal like this?” he asked.

Levin said Republicans must “reject this model” that is “not chiseled in stone” and said, “let Democrats have a love-fest with the media. And they do, by the way.”

He mentioned that when the Democrats debated, the mainstream press that were so curious about Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) finances never asked a single question about Hillary Clinton’s crony capitalism and finances.

Levin said he was in favor of debates that last as long as five hours and “let the best man or women be the last to stand” if the mainstream media were not involved and were open to all platforms. He also said that he loves the fact that Donald Trump and Dr. Ben Carson “are kicking the establishment all over the place” and called Ben Ginsburg, the establishment GOP lawyer who was reportedly present when the GOP presidential campaigns discussed the debate process at the urging of Sen. Lindsey Graham’s campaign, the “lawyer Svengali for the establishment that is anti-Tea Party and anti-conservative.” He said it would be “terrible” if Ginsburg had any influence going forward regarding the debates.

“The Great One” was Breitbart News Daily’s inaugural guest on Sirius XM Patriot Channel 125 and he told host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon that “it doesn’t get any better than being the inaugural guest on the inaugural show.
