Carly Fiorina will return to The View on Friday to confront the talk show’s hosts for making disparaging comments about her appearance last week.
On Monday, Fiorina told Fox News Channel that she would appear on the ABC talk show this Friday to confront the hosts for insulting her appearance in an episode last week.
On Thursday’s episode of The View, co-host Michelle Collins said Fiorina “looked demented” during last week’s CNBC debate, while Joy Behar compared Fiorina’s face to a “Halloween mask.”
“None of these liberal women scare me,” Fiorina told Fox News Monday morning. “My message to the ladies of The View is ‘Man up.’ If you want to debate me on policies… man up and debate me on them. But don’t sink to talking about my face.”
Fiorina broke the news of her scheduled appearance on the talk show before The View aired Monday.
“Here’ the deal: Carly will be here on Friday,” Goldberg said at the beginning of Monday’s show.
“I do want to point out, Carly, last time you were here, we welcomed you to our table. We helped raise your profile, so you would be included in the sea of men. You weren’t worried about any kind of Republican backlash. Nobody was backlashing. We were respectful and gave you your due. So, just so we’re all clear, you have to know the difference between when somebody is coming for you, and when somebody is paying you a compliment, and when somebody is saying ‘Here’s my observation.’ If you can get that together maybe you can be president.”
On Sunday, Fiorina teed off on The View hosts, saying the comments made about her appearance never would have been said about Democrat presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
“[O]f course, there’s a double standard,” told Fox News Sunday’s John Roberts, “It will not stop me, it will not scare me, and maybe, the ladies of The View, if I come back on again, let’s see if they have the guts to say that to my face.”
