One week after the Breitbart News Network and Sirius XM Radio announced the expansion of Breitbart News Radio from the weekend show to include a M-F drive-time program, Breitbart today announced the addition of Michelle Fields as a political reporter.

“Michelle Fields represents the essence of what Breitbart News looks for in a reporter—brains, guts and tenacity,” said Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon. “We couldn’t be more excited that she is joining Matt Boyle and the rest of our extraordinary Washington Political team.”

“I’m excited to join an organization that plays such a large role driving the national political conversation,” Fields said. “I’m looking forward to working with the entire Breitbart team to continue exposing the waste and corruption in Washington.”

“Michelle is a welcome addition and we look forward to her contributions to our top-notch political coverage driving the 2016 political conversation,” said Breitbart News CEO Larry Solov.

With more than 22 million unique visitors and 110 million page views per month, Breitbart.com is one of the most-trafficked news websites in America according to web analytics firm Alexa. Breitbart extends its influence even further via social media. Amongst English language news sites worldwide, social media analytics firm NewsWhip recently reported Breitbart News ranks #19 in Facebook publishers, #6 for most Facebook comments, and #23 for Twitter publishers.

Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow added, “Michelle has an impressive new media tool kit: she has broken stories, she’s a compelling television broadcaster, and, perhaps most importantly, she has incredible energy–a huge asset in any newsroom.”

Fields has previously been a reporter for The Daily Caller and for PJ Media. She covered the 2012 election cycle, the Occupy Wall Street movement, and has interviewed various celebrities and politicians like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Matt Damon, and Leonardo DiCaprio among others on their hypocrisy. A Fox News regular who has been appearing on Cashin In for the past two years discussing waste and corruption in Washington, Fields has also given a Ted Talk on the future of online journalism.

“We couldn’t be more excited to add Michelle to our growing team of talented young reporters breaking news stories that are important to our audience but ignored by the mainstream media,” Matt Boyle, Breitbart News Washington Political Editor, said. “With exciting news coming off of Capitol Hill, the 2016 campaign trail and from the grassroots across America, Michelle’s high energy and unique eye for stories is only going to complement the rest of our stellar team.”
