GOP Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie was at the Iowa state fair grounds on Saturday and was emphatic that he was not withdrawing from his position on the Black Lives Matter movement. He also said he was not quitting his presidential campaign. Christie hit the Black Lives Matter movement again while he was speaking at the fair.

The political reporter for Time Magazine, Zeke Miller, tweeted yesterday that Christie said that “‘many’ in Black Lives Matter movement ‘advocate for the murder of police officers.’”

During CBS’s Face the Nation show on October 25th, Christie accused President Obama of encouraging lawlessness. He noted that murder was up 19 percent in Chicago and up 11 percent in New York. Christie also charged that the President “justifies Black Lives Matter.”

Christie explained, “I don’t believe that that movement should be justified when they’re calling for the murder of police officers, no.”

When CBS host John Dickerson said, “But they’re not calling for the murder of police officers,” Christie replied, “Sure, they are. Sure, they are. They have been chanting in the streets for the murder of police officers.”

Christie said “that’s what the movement is creating. And the president of the United States is justifying that, but not only that. He hasn’t backed up police officers from the minute he’s gotten into office.”

As reported by Caitlin Dickson, Christie’s stance on Black Lives Matter has potentially cost him support in New Jersey’s African American community. Bishop Reginald Jackson of a black church “whose endorsement is credited with helping re-elect the Republican governor in 2013, said that he was ‘disturbed’ and ‘disappointed’ by Christie’s comments.”

Breitbart Texas has reported that Black Lives Matter activists, and the New Black Panthers, have called for the killing of police officers and whites.

Breitbart Texas was at the Waller County jail where Sandra Bland died and reported when a group of armed members of the New Black Panther Party marched on the Waller County Jail chanting “The revolution is on… Off the pigs,” and “Oink Oink… Bang Bang!”

On August 9th Breitbart Texas was at the Waller County jail again when a self-proclaimed “nappy-haired militant non-compliant Negro” named “Sunshine,” stood in front of a group of white journalists and bloggers and said that all white people should be killed, as reported by Breitbart Texas. When asked whether she really believed that, she responded, “You’re damn right I do! You think I am scared to say that to you?!”

Within just a few weeks of these occurrences, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Darren Goforth was shot in the back of the head execution style while he was putting gas into his patrol car. He was in full uniform at a Chevron gas station in Houston approximately 30 miles from the Waller County jail where these threats against police officers were made as reported by Breitbart Texas. A black man, Shannon Miles, has been charged in the deputy’s murder.

Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman told reporters during a press conference after the deputy’s execution, “This rhetoric has gotten out of control. We’ve heard ‘black lives matter,” “all lives matter,” well cops’ lives matter too,” said the leader of the largest sheriff’s office in the country.
