South Carolina Senator and Republican presidential candidate Lindsey Graham criticized the CNBC debate as “too many moderators trying to have their moment” in an interview on Friday’s “John Gibson Show” on Fox News Radio.
Graham said that he thought the primetime debate was different from the undercard debate and “too many moderators trying to have their moment rather than trying to elicit who’s best qualified to be president. … The CNBC debate on — the top tier debate really missed the mark, I thought, in terms of what we want as a party.”
Graham also stated that he thinks the formats for the debates should be changed, so the field is separated “evenly,” and that candidates should be able to handle liberal moderators if they run for president.
