Tuesday on ABC’s “The View,” former NBA player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump should “treat everybody equally and he can’t seem to do that.”
Co-host Joy Behar asked, “Kareem, you wrote an article in The Washington Post, which I happened to have read. It was not very flattering to Trump. It was called, “This is the Difference between Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.” Trump was not happy with it and he wrote you this letter which I will read and then you can respond. ‘Kareem, now I know why the press always treated you so badly,’ says Donald. ‘They couldn’t stand you. The fact is that you don’t have a clue about life and what has to be done to make America great again. best wishes, Donald Trump.’ So what was your response to his response?”
Abdul-Jabbar said “Well, I felt that what he had to say proved my point. The fact that he wanted to be so rude. There was a gentleman that did the Hispanic broadcast….Telemundo, and they treated him like crap. Why? Because he was from Telemundo. I thought that was — that shouldn’t be happening. They should treat everybody equally and he can’t seem to do that.”
