HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher argued that Democratic presidential candidate and former Virginia Senator Jim Webb’s statement about killing a Vietcong soldier during the Vietnam War is “the kind of thing that gets applause at a Republican debate” on Friday.
Maher said, “the candidates, at one point were asked, who is the enemy you’re most proudest of making? And Jim Webb said, it’s the Vietcong that threw a grenade at me, but he’s not around anymore, because I killed him. Jim, this is the kind of thing that gets applause at a Republican debate.”
