Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated CNN had a “much different kind of a debate” for the Republican presidential candidates than they did for the Democratic presidential candidates on Wednesday’s “O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel.
Trump stated, [relevant remarks begin around 8:30] “nobody went after her [Democratic presidential candidate former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton] last night. And I think, frankly, that maybe CNN — they could have been told not to do it, but when we were debating…there was much different kind of a debate. they were saying, Mr. Trump so and so said this, how do you respond? And you know, I’m talking about somebody to my right or to my left. And it was really like they want to pit one against the other. … They didn’t do that last night.”
He added that it was “possible” that Democrats told CNN how to conduct the debate, but that he didn’t “see anything wrong with it even, I think they — you know, look, the way they spoke with us, it was pitting into other.”
Trump further said that that while “it was a much different debate charge,” and the GOP CNN debate was “like a reality show,” “Anderson Cooper did an excellent job.”
