Wednesday on MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” Republican presidential candidate Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) said he was “shocked” Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was “so desperate” that she would “pander” by claiming she was proud to be enemies with Republicans.
Reacting to Clinton’s debate performance, Kasich said, “When she says that I’m really proud of the fact that I’ve made enemies with Republicans—we’re not a parliamentary system. That’s part of the problem. If you’re going to fix these entitlement programs, balance a budget, rebuild the military, you can’t do it with just one party. So I mean, I guess when you get into a debate, sometimes people get so desperate, they’ll say anything they can in order to get attention.”
He continued, “I’ve known Hillary for a long time, and I was just shocked that she would say that. I know why she did…It was absolute pander. And it’s like, I’ll say anything in order to get what I want.”
