Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson said that he likes Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI) and “hopefully he will decide that he wants to” run for speaker in an interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports.”
When asked what he thought of Ryan as a “compromise choice” for speaker, Carson said, “I like Paul Ryan. He’s a thoughtful individual and — but the question is, you know, what do the other representatives think about him? And you know, hopefully he will decide that he wants to do this, and will present his philosophy of leadership, along with others, and they can make an intelligent decision.”
