In an interview that aired on Friday’s “The O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL), a candidate for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, fielded challenges from host Bill O’Reilly about his lack of emotion on the campaign trail, particularly his lack of “anger.”

According to O’Reilly, if Bush were to express an anger at the status quo in America, he might be faring better among voters.

“So far and I’m saying this with all do you respect because I have said many times on this program that you did an excellent job in Florida overall. You’ve been flat. You haven’t shown the passion and the anger and outrage that the voters are feeling. Therefore you are missing connecting with them am I wrong?”

Bush insisted that once voters learned about his record, his lack of polling success would work itself out. However, O’Reilly countered that by saying some of his competitors have similar track records to tout.

“Here’s the problem,” O’Reilly replied. “All the things that you say are true but Kasich has the same story in Ohio. Christie has a fairly good story in New Jersey although there is a tax problem there but the voters want you, Jeb Bush yourself to be as angry as you are and you are not. See, I’m angry. I’m angry. I don’t want to see baby body parts cut up and sold. I’m angry that an alien convicted felon could be deported five times and come back and shoot a 32-year old girl in the head … I’m furious President Putin is kicking Obama’s butt. I’m angry. So, viewers connect with it.”
