GOP presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) says he will be in the presidential race longer than “clown” Donald Trump. In response, the GOP frontrunner is firing back on Twitter, predicting Rand will drop out of the race soon.
Trump posted on Twitter:
In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Paul stated it’s “silly season anytime Donald Trump opens his mouth” after being questioned about the frontrunner’s attacks on social media.
“He’s not a real conservative,” Paul stated during the interview. “No real conservative would have supported a single payer system for medical or health care, no real conservative would support raising taxes, and no real conservative would have supported President Obama’s government stimulus plan.”
Paul appeared on Fox News with Gretchen Carlson Tuesday afternoon and said he was in the race for the long haul.
According to Real Clear Politics, Trump is in the lead among the GOP field with 23.4 percent, while Paul is in tenth place with 2.4 percent.
