Childless German Chancellor Angela Merkel is suddenly fecund with millions of traveling Muslim migrants — and she wants President Barack Obama to quarter many of her new charges in American taxpayer-funded homes.
Sixty million so-called “refugees” worldwide are homeless, she claims. “We don’t simply face a German challenge, or just a European challenge, but we are dealing with a global challenge,” she said in a speech to Germany’s parliament.
The growing migration wave can only be answered with “the support of our transatlantic partners, the United States, as well as Russia and the states of the Middle East… How we deal with the current crisis will shape our continent well into the future,” she said in her Sept. 24 speech.
She’s likely to get support from President Obama — and the GOP leadership in Congress has done nothing this year to curb Obama’s legal or bureaucratic ability to invite migrants into the United States.
In prior speeches, Obama has openly declared that he thinks Americans do not have the right to resist migrants, and also his desire to aid Muslims.
“There have been periods where the folks who were already here suddenly say, ‘Well, I don’t want those folks,’ even though the only people who have the right to say that are some Native Americans,” Obama said Nov. 24 about his migration policy.
Americans must not favor their children, their relatives, and their fellow Americans over distant and diverse foreigners, Obama declared. “Sometimes we get attached to our particular tribe, our particular race, our particular religion, and then we start treating other folks differently… that, sometimes, has been a bottleneck to how we think about immigration,” he said.
“I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear,” he said in 2009.
Obama has welcomed 160,000 Muslim legal immigrants and refugees in 2013, and has allowed more than 240,000 border-crossing Latin American migrants to apply for residency since 2011.
However, most of the Muslim migrants are unskilled and unwilling to integrate into the United State’s free-wheeling, individualist society. More than 90 percent of recent refugees from Middle Eastern nations are on food stamps and nearly 70 percent receive cash assistance, according to government data.
So far, Obama and his deputies have suggested they will increase the annual inflow of refugees — most of whom are Muslim — from 70,000 to 100,000 a year.
But that’s likely to rise once Congress finishes the 2016 budget.
In 2014, Obama kept secret his plan to provide a bureaucratic amnesty to five million migrants in the United States until after the elections were completed, in addition to the inflow of asylum-seekers and legal immigrants.
Subsequently, GOP legislative leaders refused to block spending on his amnesty in exchange for his support of a GOP giveaway to Wall Street. The resulting uproar split the party until the leaders finally caved to Democrats in February.
In August, Merkel created the crisis by throwing open Germany’s doors to the growing tide of migrants — and released a human stampede from Afghanistan, Syria, Bangladesh, India, and much of northern Africa.
Italy’s progressive prime minister had earlier opened Italy’s doors to an unlimited number of African migrants.
“I don’t see it abating, I don’t see it stopping,” said Amin Awad, regional refugee coordinator for the U.N. refugee agency UNHCR, which opposes barriers that would stop Muslims and Africans flowing into Europe. The current inflow of roughly 8,000 migrants a day shows “perhaps that this is the tip of the iceberg.”
Amid growing public protest across Europe, and the rising poll numbers for left-wing, moderate, and right-wing nationalist parties, Merkel has threatened anyone who resists her plan to fundamentally transform Germany with a wave of Muslim workers. “There can be no tolerance of those who question the dignity of other people,” she said Aug. 26. “There is no tolerance of those who are not ready to help, where, for legal and humanitarian reasons, help is due,” said Germany’s chancellor.
Worldwide, the onrush of migrants “requires each region, each country, each political level, each institution to make its contribution to tackle the crisis,” she said Sept. 24.
But even some senior European leaders are getting worried. The Polish-born president of the European Union’s top council, Donald Tusk, has begun calling for European self-defense. “It is clear that the greatest tide of refugees and migrants is yet to come. Therefore we need to correct the [current] policy of open doors and windows.”
