On September 22 at around 10:20 a.m., an alleged home invader ignored the warnings of an elderly Phoenix homeowner and was shot. First responders later found him in critical condition.
According to CBS 5, the elderly homeowner was alone when he saw the suspect in his backyard. The homeowner retrieved a gun and met the suspect as he was allegedly breaking in through a window. He warned the suspect that he was armed, but the suspect allegedly entered anyway. The homeowner then opened fire, striking him with at least one bullet.
Police say the suspect then “tried to flee down an alley but collapsed several houses down, where emergency personnel found him in extremely critical condition.”
The alleged invader was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police summed up the incident by saying, “The homeowner reported perceiving a threat and fired at the subject, striking him.”
