Kornheiser: Cowboys Owner ‘Carnival Barker’ Jerry Jones the ‘Trump of the NFL’

During ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption” on Tuesday, co-host Tony Kornheiser likened Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump while discussing the Cowboys owner calling second-string Brandon Weeden a “gifted passer.”

Jones stuck up for his backup quarterback, who has had a less than stellar career thus far, after losing starter Tony Romo for an extended period of time due to a broken clavicle.

Kornheiser first called Jones a “carnival barker” who is “always selling” and making things look better than they are, and then said he is the “Donald Trump of the NFL.”

“What’s interesting to me is Jerry Jones. Jerry Jones is a carnival barker. Jerry Jones is always selling, ‘Everything’s great, come on over here and look at me.’ He’s the Donald Trump of the NFL. He’s trying his best to sell himself and his team  and they country on the notion they’re 2-0 and getting better,” explained Kornheiser.
