Tom Brady called a potential Donald Trump victory in his presidential run “great” on Wednesday.

The thumbs up for the billionaire’s candidacy follows Brady conspicuously placing a red “Make America Great Again” cap in his locker and the quarterback calling Trump “a great friend.”

“I hope so,” Brady said of Trump winning. “That would be great. There’d be a putting green on the White House lawn. I’m sure of that.”

Trump repeatedly backed the New England Patriots quarterback during the Deflategate controversy. Brady, essentially apolitical during his 16 seasons in the NFL, set off speculation about his leanings when he skipped a spring visit to the White House after the Patriots won the Super Bowl.

The four-time Super Bowl champion says he has shared golfing outings with Trump and first met him while judging a beauty contest in Atlantic City in 2002.

The Republican frontrunner takes on an out-for-blood Republican field in a debate on CNN Wednesday evening. The reigning Super Bowl MVP faces a resurgent Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park on Sunday.
