Vice President Joe Biden is seriously addressing rumors that he is considering a run for president. He admits that he doesn’t know whether he has the emotional energy for another campaign.

Biden traveled to Atlanta yesterday evening to deliver a speech at the Ahavath Achim Synagogue to defend the administration’s nuclear deal with Iran, but took questions after the event from participants.

“I will be straightforward with you. The most relevant factor in my decision is whether my family and I have the emotional energy to run,” he said.

Biden pointed out that a presidential candidate needs to devote his whole heart and soul to the campaign, and that’s what he’s wrestling with. But he did signal that he could raise enough money and build a political organization in spite of all the candidates currently in the race.

“The factor is – Can I do it? Can my family undertake what is an arduous commitment that we’d be proud to undertake in ordinary circumstances?” he asked. “The honest to God answer is I just don’t know.”
