Senator Marco Rubio has taking a conservative hard-lined stance against the Department of Education.
Rubio wants to abolish the Department of Education and does not support Common Core education standards.
Rubio, who has already stated that he opposed Common Core, made his remarks at a campaign stop in Carson City, Nevada in front of a group of 200.
“What starts out as a suggestion ends up being, ‘If you want money from us, you must to do it this way,’ and you will end up with a version of a national school board,” Rubio said. “We don’t need a national school board,” adding, “I honestly think we don’t need a Department of Education.”-AP
