Justin Roshud Smith, 20, of Wynne, Arkansas, stands accused of raping a 10-year-old girl, who then became pregnant.
Smith was arrested by the Wynne Police Department. The Cross County Sheriff’s Office website stated he was booked on August 29. The police department said on Facebook that the charges were three counts of rape and endangering the welfare of a minor.
The Wynne Police Department said bond was set at $500,000, according to a release. The police discovered the pregnant girl when a local hospital notified them about her. Detective Rolland Geror, Sgt. Daniel Getchell, and Patrolman Brodie Faughn joined the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division to investigate.
If convicted, Smith could spend at least 25 years in prison.
