Cheney: I’d Love to See Biden Get in the Race

In a preview of an interview set to air on Tuesday night’s broadcast of CNN’s “AC360,” Vice President Dick Cheney sounded off on the 2016 Democratic race for the nomination, in particular the possibility of his vice-presidential successor Joe Biden running against Hillary Clinton for the nomination.

“I’d love to see Joe get in the race,” Cheney said.

Cheney contended Biden would “stir things up,” which would make him viable.

“Well, go for it, Joe,” Cheney continued. “He’s tried twice before; he obviously is interested. I think there’s a lot of support for him in the Democratic Party. I think it would stir things up. They’re short candidates on their side, so I’d urge Joe to have a shot at it.”

“Clinton has this idea nobody could challenge her,” he added. “I think that’s gone by the boards because of her problems. I think that’s why there’s potential support out there. She does have some opposition now. My bet is Joe is going to run.”
