Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski questioned Huffington Post editor Danny Shea for his publication’s decision to classify Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential run as “Entertainment” and not politics.
However, Brzezinski pointed to the number of celebrities that Huffington Post had deemed worthy of political coverage when they ran or flirted with running for office, including Al Franken, Ashley Judd and Herman Cain.
Shea defended Huffington Post’s decision to cover Donald Trump as entertainment not politics and challenged Scarborough and Brzezinski, explaining that Trump’s rise in the polls is due to media coverage, driven by the GOP candidate being a celebrity.
