Nixon and Watergate were nothing compared to Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. The actions of General David Petraeus, the former CIA director who was fined $100,000 and given two years’ probation for exposing classified information, are nothing compared to what Hillary Clinton has done.

Because we no longer have anything resembling the rule of law, it’s an open question whether Democrat royalty like Clinton will ever be held to account – they simply do not live under the laws that govern even the highest-ranking yeomen and peons. Clinton’s fate is largely a political question: is the Obama machine interested in getting rid of her, or not? If not, we’ll hear some mumbling about how it will take years to mount any sort of proper investigation, and we should check back with the “Justice” Department some time in, oh, 2018 or thereabouts… perhaps after it’s been the Clinton Justice Department for a few years.

The latest twist in Clinton’s flaunting of the law, and reckless endangerment of national security, to hide her activities as Secretary of State from Congress and the public is a mysterious two-month gap in her email record – just like the missing minutes from those infamous Nixon tapes.

As the Daily Beast reports, Clinton has released about 2,000 of the emails that she didn’t bother to delete, in defiance of subpoenas… and what do you know, “there are no emails between Clinton and her State Department staff during May and June 2012, a period of escalating violence in Libya leading up to the September 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that left four Americans dead.”

Does anyone seriously believe the Secretary of State would send absolutely no emails during a two-month period, while the country she urged an invasion of – Libya was more her baby than Obama’s – was disintegrating into bloody chaos? Supposedly she only received only a single message from her henchman-in-waiting Sid Blumenthal, “largely about business interests in Libya?”

According to House Benghazi Committee chair Trey Gowdy (R-SC), there are other “gaps of months and months and months” in the emails belatedly surrendered by Clinton under intense legal and political pressure. (Reminder: the number of emails she voluntarily handed over is zero. Actually, she still hasn’t surrendered a single email to this day – she printed some of them out, and dumped the paper copies on Congress in boxes.)

This particular gap is highly significant, because it covers the rise of violent chaos in Benghazi, including at least three terrorist attacks, one of which targeted the U.S. consulate with a bomb that blew a hole in the outer walls. Obviously Clinton is not eager to expose proof that she knew how incredibly dangerous Benghazi was, before sending Ambassador Chris Stevens to the region unprotected.

The Daily Beast also notes that the two-month Clinton email gap coincides neatly with the “special exemption” granted to top Clinton aide Huma Abedin, wife of disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner, allowing Abedin to “work both as a staff member to the secretary and in a private capacity for Clinton and her husband’s foundation.”

If that sounds weird, well, we normally have conflict-of-interest laws to prevent such obvious conflicts of interest… but they were waved aside for Abedin, and the State Department has been stonewalling against lawful Freedom of Information Act requests on the matter for years.

The truth only leaks out of this corrupt Administration when judges get involved, and so it was in this case, as a federal judge finally lost patience with State and order them to cough up the documents on Abedin… which they did, literally hours before the deadline. Before the judge smacked them down, State wouldn’t even admit the documents existed.

Who knows if they’ve given up all of the relevant documentation? Maybe some more juicy material will be “discovered” in the bottom of a filing cabinet somewhere, months or years from now. That’s how things go in the Age of Obama. Keep the truth on ice for long enough, and it becomes a lie.

The reason Clinton set up her illicit private server, ignoring her patently false and silly excuses about being a confused old lady who can’t handle more than one email account, was to perform document surgery like this. Even if the relevant information is eventually forced out of her, it will take months, dragging out damaging stories for what seems like centuries in the fast-moving online news cycle… and maybe also jeopardizing national security even further, since Clinton’s statements about handling no classified material on her black- box server have been conclusively proven false. We’ll never know how much relevant data Clinton simply destroyed, illegally, before handing a single message over to the proper authorities.

That’s why normal people are severely punished for monkeying around with subpoena-responsive material – it’s treated as tantamount to an admission of guilt. But, again, the rules are different for Democrat royalty, in a corrupt age when iron laws binding the rest of us are mere suggestions to them.

Eat your heart out, Richard Nixon.
