Anthony Weiner, the New York Congressman who famously resigned after a cascade of personal public relations disasters, is now working as a consultant for a public relations firm, a New York-based company reported this week.

PR firm MWW announced this week that the one-time Congressman will join its board of advisers. Weiner will serve the board as a consultant on public policy and new business development. He will not be involved directly with clients, the firm said.

The company ranks as the No. 7 independent firm on the O’Dwyer list of PR Firm Rankings and in 2014 posted fees of $51.8M.

The New York Post was amused by the move saying, “The man who destroyed his own promising political career by botching a 2011 sext-message imbroglio with bald-faced lies–and who then ruined his comeback by running one of the most disastrous mayoral campaigns of all time–will now get paid to dispense advice…”

Unsurprisingly, the firm’s founder, Michael Kempner, was a national finance co-chairman for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, which makes sense because Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, is Hillary’s longest serving aide, and Hillary’s right-hand woman.

You’ll recall that Weiner made himself infamous when time and again he was outed for having inappropriate relationships online with women he did not know. Once thought to be one of the Democrat Party’s rising stars, the scandals became so voluminous that Weiner resigned his seat as Congressman from New York. Only a year later Weiner lost his race for Mayor of New York in a landslide.
