Father Frank Pavone of Priest for Life told a Washington D.C. radio show that America and Planned Parenthood should brace for a video a week for the next five or six weeks exposing the ongoing trafficking in fetal body parts.
This is the first time that anyone from the inside of the investigation has hinted at what is to come, and that is an all-summer-long mirror showing America to itself and how many have become complacent with the underlying issue of abortion on demand.
According to Pavone, interviewed by former Breitbart reporter Larry O’Connor and Brian Wilson on their popular Washington D.C. radio show “Mornings on the Mall,” the worst is yet to come and will include interviews with those traumatized by handling the butchered baby parts. He also says his group has been in touch with and ministered to women whose aborted baby’s parts were sold by Planned Parenthood.
Besides hoping that Planned Parenthood will be defunded by the U.S. government, which gives Planned Parenthood $500 million a year in taxpayer money, and besides hoping for criminal prosecutions, investigators close to the undercover sting also hope that the revelations will expose more Americans to reality of abortion and therefore change hearts and minds. While a slight majority of Americans now self-identity as pro-life, and while most Americans believe most of the abortions performed each year should be illegal, a sizeable number of Americans are reticent to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Twenty years ago only 35 percent of Americans self-identified as pro-life. That number stands now at 51 percent. Pro-lifers contend it has grown because of the partial birth abortion debate that forced national attention on a particularly gruesome reality of abortion, and also developments in 4-D technology that has meant the first pictures stuck on the kitchen wall baby in utero. Those pictures have convinced millions of young people that the unborn baby is fully human and invested with certain rights including the right to life.
Pro-lifers expect the gruesome nature of this current controversy will change even more hearts and minds about abortion.
As Brit Hume editorialized on Fox News:
Whatever comes of the revelation about Planned Parenthood and its participation in the traffic in fetal body parts, those revelations will have achieved one thing. They have parted the veil of antiseptic tidiness behind which the abortion industry has for so long operated.
The sight of a senior Planned Parenthood official and a doctor to boot discussing the market for fetal body parts between bites of salad and sips of wine was stomach turning because it laid bare the essentially brutal nature of abortion.
Let’s be blunt. Abortion involves the extraction and killing of a human life, which within a couple of weeks of pregnancy has a beating heart. Five weeks in, its hands and legs begin to grow. It is these tiny creatures and far to often ones that are far more developed that are pulled from a mother’s womb and crushed with forceps but oh so carefully lest body parts that can later be sold are preserved.
This gruesome procedure shows how we as a people have been anesthetized by the estimated 55 million abortions performed since the Supreme Court discovered a constitutional right to that procedure 42 years ago. Will we as a nation not some day come to look upon that decision and what it has done to us, not to mention the 55 million, with horror and regret? One can only hope we will.
