Tuesday in Pittsburgh, at the 116th Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention, President Barack Obama accused the Republican budget of “Increasing risk to our troops.”
Obama said, “Some of the reckless budget cuts under sequestration that is going on in Washington right now—that is not the way to keep our armed forces ready.”
“These mindless cuts have to end,” he declared, and said because they, “Increase risk to our troops. I got to be honest—that is what the Republican budget does.”
“I’m calling on Republican leaders in Congress to come to the table with Democrats, sit down negotiate a budget that protects our national security and our economic security, ” he added. “We shouldn’t be playing partisan politics when it comes to national security.”
