During his speech to the VFW convention today, President Obama called for the release of U.S. citizens wrongfully imprisoned in Iran, but botched the last name of Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian.
“We are not going to relent until we bring home our Americans who are unjustly detained in Iran,” Obama said, naming Rezaian, former Marine Amir Hekmati, and Pastor Saeed Abedini. Obama also requested Iran to help them find Robert Levinson – who disappeared in Iran.
Obama, who was using a Teleprompter during his speech, rarely flubs pronunciations and takes pride in using the proper dialect of foreign names and words such as Taliban and Pakistan.
