On Tuesday’s “Morning Joe,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) reacted to the newly announced deal between Iran and the United States and world powers regarding the rogue regime’s nuclear program.
According to Graham, he expected the deal to face opposition from Congress.
“With the following caveat – if all of this becomes true, that there is no requirement for them to change their behavior regarding their nuclear program, just with the mere passage of time, they can expand it, I would argue to my colleagues, you’re assuring a nuclear arms race. I would argue to my colleagues, if you give them any cash now, any time soon, they’re going to put it in their war machine, which puts us at risk. Our friends in Israel can’t live with this. Please don’t put Israel in that box.”
He went on to suggest a new deal should be reached and said all the nearly all the presidential candidates, with the exception of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), could negotiate a better deal.
“Tell the president to go back and try to get a better deal,” he continued. “Tell the P5+1 there is a better deal to be had. Hillary Clinton, if you think this is a good deal, then you’re dangerously naïve. I think she could negotiate a better deal than this. I think everybody on our side could, except Rand Paul. So I’d keep the interim deal in place because it has worked better than I thought. But if you close this deal out – if this becomes a binding deal, you’ve ensured a nuclear arms race and you’ve taken the largest state sponsor of terrorism on the planet and you’ve given them money to increase their terrorist activities.”
