The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol appeared on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” on Sunday to discuss 2016 GOP primary candidate Donald Trump’s campaign, which has been the center of some controversy.
Kristol said that Trump’s message, while he called it “crude,” has plenty of “healthy” points that Republicans should incorporate. He also said that if Trump were to run as a third party candidate, it would be “very dangerous.”
“Republicans need to incorporate what is healthy about the Trump message, which is an anti-establishment, anti-Washington message, and a genuine concern about illegal immigrants, the fact that some of them are criminals,” Kristol said. “That’s not a ridiculous thing to say. The way he said it was crude and reprehensible.”
