During his “Tip of the Day” segment on his Thursday broadcast, “The O’Reilly Factor” host Bill O’Reilly suggested that since President Barack Obama and his administration adorned the White House with rainbow colors to commemorate the Supreme Court’s ruling declaring bans on same-sex marriage to be unconstitutional, they should do something similar to mark Independence Day.
“As you may know, I was not thrilled that President Obama allowed the White House to reflect the rainbow colors after the gay marriage ruling,” O’Reilly said. “I feel the people’s house should be accessible to all Americans and political statements should not be made on that property. So, here is the ‘Factor’ ‘Tip of the Day’ and it is directed to President Obama himself. How about on the Fourth of July, sir, we bathe the White House in red, white and blue? No politics, just honoring the independence of our country. We await your decision.”
