Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign emailed supporters Wednesday saying the campaign set a new fundraising record.
“In the first quarter of this campaign, we raised more than $45 million — a new record for this early in a campaign,” wrote Clinton’s Campaign Manager Robby Mook.
He went on to say people have doubted whether Clinton could get grassroots supporters, but the hundreds of thousands of donations prove the critics wrong.
“We’re still running the numbers, and we’ll be in touch again soon to tell you a little more about the incredible group of people who’ve chipped in to support this campaign. Stay tuned for that,” Mook teased.
Mook went on request even more donations to Clinton’s campaign.
He stressed that some of the Republican candidates are rumored to have raised roughly $100 million dollars “every penny of which they’ll use to tear down our campaign and strengthen theirs. So we need to keep working.”
