Vandals have struck again for the second time in less than a week at Charleston South Carolina’s Marion Square, this time throwing water balloons filled with paint at a monument to John C. Calhoun just about a block away from the Mother Emanuel AME church.

A paint removal specialist working at the scene spoke exclusively to Breitbart News and said that this attack was more serious than the first, which involved spray painting words on the monument.

Using a paint-filled balloon allowed the vandals to easily avoid the small barrier that was erected around the statue in the wake of last weekend’s vandalism.

The attacks come in the wake of outside agitators coming to Charleston in an attempt to spark an “uprising.”

The residents of Charleston have gained praise nationwide for their dignified response to the massacre of nine black churchgoers, allegedly carried out by a 21-year-old racist who came to Charleston from a different part of the state.

Universally, both the black and white residents of Charleston that Breitbart News has spoken to have condemned both the accused murderer but also outside agitators they perceive as capitalizing on a tragedy for their own agenda.

More funerals for the victims continue over the weekend. Charleston police say that they will be maintaining a permanent presence at the monument until further notice.
