On June 24, a Fort Myers, Florida, man put a gun to ex-wife’s head, only to have her take it from him when he tried to manipulate the slide and clear a jam. She then reloaded the gun and ordered her ex-husband out of the house.
The man, Luis Angel Rafael Ferrer, allegedly entered the house while his ex-wife was gone and took a number of items, including their dogs. Upon returning, the ex-wife called and asked him to bring back the dogs. He did, and while returning them he allegedly put a gun to the woman’s head as well.
According to News-Press, Ferrer allegedly threw something at his ex-wife when he arrived, she pointed a gun at him in fear and he was able to take it away. He then put it to her head but could not fire it. While trying to remedy a jam in the gun the woman grabbed it, retreated to a room where she kept an extra magazine, and loaded the weapon.
She then retreated deeper into the home, going “to the bathroom to get away.”
When Ferrer came into the bathroom after her she pointed the gun at him told him to get out of the house. At that point “he fled out the back door.”
Ferrer was later “arrested and charged with home invasion with a deadly weapon, grand theft and burglary.”
