While Republicans love to hate her, and Democrats don’t know what to do with her, one thing is certain: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
There was talk that Wasserman Schultz was looking into a U.S. Senate run in 2016, but she quickly nixed that idea, saying that she was content in her role as Democratic National Committee Chair and congresswoman in Florida’s 23rd congressional district.
With the presidential campaign season just getting started, and other congressional candidates making known their intentions to run for U.S. Congress, Wasserman Schultz is also out there campaigning for re-election.
Considering that Wasserman Schultz is one of the most outspoken, if not the most outspoken, supporters of same-sex marriage and equality rights, it was no surprise to see the congresswoman campaigning for re-election in the annual gay pride parade in Wilton Manors, Florida.
“Team DWS” was in full swing and pressing the flesh with their base of support on a hot Saturday afternoon in June.
June is gay pride month across the country.
