In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Friday, GOP presidential candidate and businessman Donald Trump responded to Interior Minister Miguel Angel Osorio Chong’s allegations that Trump’s statements on immigrants from Mexico were “biased and absurd.”
“They’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people,” Trump said during his announcement speech, which sparked Chong’s reaction.
“You can tell he is seeking to generate publicity, and of course he does not know or understand, surely, the contributions of all the migrants of practically every nation on earth, who have come to support and back the development of the United States,” Chong told reporters.
Trump told Breitbart News, “Mexico has made a fortune off the United States.”
But he added, “I love the Mexican people. I’ve always had a great relationship with the Mexican people.”
Trump said the Mexican leaders have outsmarted leaders here in the United States – adding that politicians just don’t have a clue on important issues such as immigration and trade.
“Mexico – very intelligently – has people not only from Mexico, but from all over, go through the border because the United States – in its lack of leadership and lack of knowledge and stupidity – doesn’t know what to do,” he said, adding America then ends up accepting everybody through its borders.
Trump explained to Breitbart News that many of the immigrants coming from Mexico are people that Mexico doesn’t want – meaning criminals and the drug dealers he originally referenced in his speech — and also dangerous individuals from other countries Mexico wouldn’t want either.
Trump has taken the strongest stance on immigration out of all the GOP presidential candidates thus far, when he promised to build a great wall in order to stop the flow of illegal immigrants through the Mexican border.
