Hillary Clinton Says She’d Vote Against ‘Fast Track’ Trade Bill

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton says she would vote against the fast-track trade bill were she in the Senate today.

Clinton has been increasingly critical of President Barack Obama’s push for fast-track authority to let him negotiate a sweeping Pacific Rim trade agreement. But she avoided formal opposition to parts of the deal until Thursday.

In a televised interview with Nevada journalist Jon Ralston, Clinton says she’d vote against the current fast-track bill because it doesn’t include worker protections. Those protections are expected to be voted on separately.

Clinton remains noncommittal on whether she supports the overall trade deal Obama seeks.
