Sunday in Iowa, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton called on President Barack Obama to work with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to “take the lemons and turn it into lemonade” by making changes to his Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal to make it better.
Clinton said, “The president has this amazing opportunity right now,” adding “There are some specifics in there that could and should be changed.”
Urging compromise she continued, “The president should listen to and work with his allies in Congress, starting with Nancy Pelosi. ”
She added, “Let’s take the lemons and turn it into lemonade.”
“Let’s find out what’s in it and make it as good as it can be,” Clinton said. “No president would be a tougher negotiator on behalf of American workers with our trading partners and Republicans on Capitol Hill than I would be.”
