Friday at the White House press briefing, press secretary Josh Earnest put a very positive spin on what is being called a stunning defeat of the TAA portion of President Barack Obama’s trade deal, which has put the future of the entire legislation in question.

Referring to the administration’s last loss on the trade deal in the Senate in May, Earnest told the press he felt like “Yogi Berra—I’m tempted to walk out here and say ‘It’s déjà vu all over again.’”

In May and today, he said the defeat was simply a “procedural snafu.”
