During the White House Press briefing today, Press Secretary Josh Earnest was asked by reporters about Sen. Lindsey Graham’s suggestion that there could be a “rotating First Lady” at the White House, if he was elected president.
Graham, who announced his run for president earlier this month, is currently a bachelor.
“It’s hard to imagine this White House without this First Lady,” Earnest replied, pointing to her important work as an advocate for causes like “Let’s Move!” and carrying out the ceremonial duties as First Lady.
He admitted that Graham’s proposal was a curious one.
“It’s hard for me to imagine both a Graham White House and what a Graham White House would be without a First Lady,” Earnest said, deferring to Graham to fill in reporters on the details.
