On the same day former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) is set to announce his presidential candidacy, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) took to Twitter to announce his formal announcement will be in just 11 days – on June 15th.
“Aides to Mr. Bush said he would speak at the Kendall Campus of Miami Dade College. The choice of location highlights an issue Mr. Bush has focused on for years: education,” The New York Times reported.
Bush’s announcement comes just days after a new poll hints that he is slipping in favorability. A new Washington Post/ABC News poll had Bush tied for second place with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and following both Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI).
However, according to a Real Clear Politics average, Bush is still leading the GOP pack with 13.2 percent, followed by Walker who has 12.5 percent.
