USCIS Head Decries Lack of ‘Justice’ for Illegals in U.S. Immigration Laws

On Wednesday in Utah, the director of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) bemoaned that there is no “justice” for illegal immigrants in the country’s immigration laws.

“You will never once see the word ‘justice’ [in the country’s immigration laws and regulations],” Leon Rodriguez reportedly said at a convention of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. “Real justice will come when we have reform… that gives us a path to citizenship [for illegal immigrants].”

Rodriguez reportedly said that the current immigration system is “obsolete” and an “archaic scheme that does not reflect our economy, does not reflect our demographics, and does not reflect–above all–our values.”

He said his agency, which has been accused of rubber-stamping immigration and amnesty applications, would reportedly “act quickly” to implement President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty program if it survives its court challenge.

Since Obama enacted his executive amnesty, Rodriguez has assured illegal immigrants that it would be permanent and encouraged them to apply and “participate with confidence” and without fear.
