ABC’s “This Week” anchor George Stephanopoulos asked “Clinton Cash” author Peter Schweizer if he had a “partisan interest” during an interview on April 26, 2015.
After Schweizer laid out the details of the Clintons’ dealings with Uranium One’s Frank Giustra, Stephanopoulos said, “And that — that is that — the Clintons do say it’s a coincidence. As they say, you have produced no evidence. And I still haven’t heard any direct evidence, and you just said you had no evidence that she intervened here.”
He added, “But I do want to ask a broader question. It’s been reported that you — you briefed several Republicans on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, including the chairman, Bob Corker. Did you offer any briefings for Democrats?”
After Schweizer told him no, but that he would brief anyone who wanted to be briefed, Stephanopoulos continued, “As you know, the Democrats have said this is — this is an indication of your partisan interest. They say you used to work for President — President Bush as a speechwriter. You’re funded by the Koch brothers. How do you respond to that?”
On Thursday, Stephanopoulos admitted to POLITICO that the had donated $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation without disclosing it.
